Artist Statement
My art reflects my moods, with an emphasis on foreground, color and texture. From realistic to abstract, all my works capture gesture and expression. I am proficient in ink, oil, and acrylic.
Inspiration usually starts with color, then line, and composition. In many of my works I accomplish the “Six principles of Chinese painting”, established by Xie He of the 5th century; the most important of which is “Spirit Resonance”, or vitality, transmitted from the artist into the work.
